Golden Fish operates as a specialized fishing diary with structured data capture. After pulling a fish from the ice hole, you photograph it directly in the app, then log precise measurements using the built-in weight scale interface that accepts kilograms with one decimal point accuracy and length measurement in centimeters. The photo upload area shows a fish icon placeholder until you tap to activate your device camera or select from gallery.
The fish type classification system offers three main categories based on visual identification: Blue fish varieties including Arctic Salmon and Deep Water Pike, Red species like Red Fire Carp, and Gold classifications such as Blue River Trout. Each type selector button displays a corresponding fish silhouette in its category color, making quick identification intuitive even in cold weather conditions when you need speed.
Location documentation goes beyond simple GPS coordinates. You manually enter the fishing spot name like Arctic Lake, Northern River, Mountain Lake, or Deep Lake, then add multiline descriptive notes about weather conditions, water temperature observations, ice thickness, time of day, bait used, and personal impressions. This builds a searchable historical database where you can later filter by conditions to identify the most productive fishing circumstances for future trips.
The New Catch screen presents a comprehensive form starting with a large tap-to-photograph area showing a placeholder fish icon. Below that, you fill the fish name field with species identification, select type via three color-coded buttons showing Blue, Red, or Gold fish icons, then enter weight in kilograms using decimal precision and length in centimeters. A location text field captures the fishing spot name, followed by a multiline description box for detailed notes about conditions and impressions.
Every logged catch receives a quality rating from 1 to 6 stars by tapping the appropriate star count below the description field. The app tracks your cumulative coin balance displayed at the top navigation bar in a metallic blue hexagonal frame with a gold coin icon showing 380 coins in the reference example. Higher star ratings on bigger fish award more coins, creating progression motivation as you compete with your own records.
The My Catches screen lists all logged fish entries in bright cyan-blue panels with metallic silver borders. Each panel shows the fish name in golden yellow script font, location in white italic text, capture date in format 18 Feb 2026, star rating visualization with filled gold and empty gray stars, and a circular red-orange delete button with white X icon positioned on the far right for entry removal when needed.
The Levels screen displays your ranked catches under the golden cursive header Top Catches by Weight. Four horizontal panels show rank position in yellow text, fish icon in species color, fish name and location in white text, and six-star rating on the right. The ranking automatically sorts entries by recorded weight in descending order, letting you instantly see which catches made your personal record books.
My Profile screen centers your avatar in concentric golden, blue, and orange rings above your editable username displayed in white cursive script. An Edit Name button in bright cyan with metallic border sits below. The stats bar shows a yellow star icon with Catches count on the left and your coin total of 380 with Coins label on the right. Below that, Best Catches section lists your top three fish with rank numbers, icons, names, and star ratings in the familiar blue panel format.
Every screen features the consistent arctic aesthetic: dark navy blue night sky background with scattered white star dots, white icy cliff formations running down both screen edges with crystalline texture, and a glowing ice hole at the bottom center showing dark blue water with a bright green-cyan radial glow and concentric ripple effects. This immersive visual design creates the feeling of standing at a real frozen lake fishing spot throughout your app experience.
